We have therefore immediately integrated a PunchOut module that allows us to connect our clients’ SAP system (or another application) to our website.

In short, how does it work?

E-procurement, or online procurement, is a process that enables better management of purchases whilst reducing costs. This method relies in particular on the use of the internet and aims to simplify the exchange of information between buyers and sellers.

The PunchOut module, for its part, enables the buyer’s e-procurement system to be connected directly to the seller’s website. The customer, via their SAP interface for example, logs into the supplier’s website using their own login details. They can then browse the supplier’s site and fill their basket. Once they have finished shopping and clicked on ‘Confirm my basket’, the basket is automatically transferred back to their SAP interface. At this stage, no order confirmation is sent to the seller. It is only when the customer confirms their order within their SAP interface that it follows the usual purchasing process (approval by the manager, automatic email sent to the supplier, etc.).
